Awareness for World Elder Abuse Day to Kick-Off with Tele-town Hall Meeting

PIERRE, S.D. – Attorney General Marty Jackley is reminding South Dakotans that World Elder Abuse Awareness Day will be recognized on Friday, June 15, 2018. As part of this recognition, the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division, the Attorney General’s Elder Abuse & Financial Exploitation Subdivision, Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, South Dakota Department of Social Services, South Dakota Department of Health and the South Dakota Department of Human Services will team with South Dakota AARP to raise awareness of elder abuse with a Tele-Town Hall meeting Thursday, June 14, beginning at 3:30 p.m. (CDT).

The topics will focus on elder abuse, neglect and exploitation and how they threaten the livelihoods of older individuals. The experts in this field will be available to answer the questions and everyone is encouraged to participate.

Currant AARP members have already received notification for this call. This call is not limited to AARP members and anyone that would like to join this meeting is encouraged to sign up by visiting bit.ly/elderabusecall18.
